Novedad: Ancestral Machines, de Michael Cobley

Esta semana se ha puesto a la venta Ancestral Machines, una novela de Michael Cobley situada en el universo de su saga A Humanity's Fire. 

Ésta es su sinopsis:

The Warcage is a feat of unprecedented stellar engineering: two hundred worlds harnessed to an artificial sun. Primera colección de historias de una de las mejores escritoras de ficción corta de las últimas décadas. Con historias tan maravillosas como "26 Monkeys, Also The Abyss", "Spar" y "Names for Water", este es un libro que no me puedo perder.

Segundo libro de la serie Orthogonal después del muy interesante The Clockwork Rocket. Greg Egan es uno de mis 3 autores favoritos, así que siempre espero ansiosamente sus nuevas novelas.

No se sabe mucho de esta novela que Hamilton ha descrito sucintamente como "mi libro sobre un monstruo en la oscuridad". En cualquier caso, ya estoy deseando leerla.

Título: The Hydrogen Sonata

Surface Detail fue el mejor libro que leí en 2010 y una de las mejores Space Operas que he leído en los últimos cinco años. Con un título tan fascinante como The Hydrogen Sonata me espero otro gran libro de La Cultura.

En realidad, este libro no es una novedad si una reedición. Sin embargo, es una fantástica oportunidad de ponerme al día con una trilogía de Space Opera que por algún motivo me perdí cuando se publicó originalmente. Los libros 2 y 3 de la serie también reeditados en Noviembre y Diciembre, seguidos por una novela totalmente nueva (Warcage) en 2013.

12 books I'm looking forward to in 2012 (Part 2)

The Atrocity Archives is one of my favorite books ever. I've been reading all the Laundry novels and stories and enjoying them immensely. I expect no less from this new installment.

Not much is known about this novel which has been succintly described by Hamilton as "my monster in the dark book". Anyway, I'm already looking forward to reading it.

Surface Detail was the best book I read in 2010 and one of the best Space Operas I've read in the last five years. With such an amazing title  as The Hydrogen Sonata I expect another great book of The Culture.

Actually, this is not a new book but a re-release. However, it is a wonderful chance to catch up with reading a Space Opera trilogy that I somehow missed when it was first published. Books 2 and 3 in the series will be also re-released in November and October, with an all-new novel (Warcage) coming in 2013.
